We take note of the developments today in the court case in Kyiv against former President Poroshenko. As regards due process, the rule of law, the presumption of innocence and the exercise of improper pressure on investigating or prosecution authorities the outcome marks
a welcome pause in a potential descent into selective justice. In terms of the judicial process and the punctuation of justice the outcome represents a comforting comma, but not yet a full stop and so merits continued vigilance.
